Hip Replacement
Owing to the natural aging process, total hip replacement due to osteoarthritis is the most common joint replacement surgery performed. With the latest advances in techniques (hip resurfacing and computer guided surgery) and materials (titanium, metal alloys and ceramics), patients can expect excellent and long lasting results.
Knee Replacement
New designs and materials used in knee replacement have achieved a more natural knee movement and increased stability, allowing patients to return to their normal active lifestyle and sport. Doctor Crane performs total knee replacements and uni-compartmental knee replacements (replacement of one half of the knee).
Ankle Replacement
Previously the only option for osteoarthritis of the ankle was a fusion (arthrodesis) which, although it has good results, leaves a patient with a stiff ankle and the potential for further osteoarthritis of the surrounding foot joints. A total ankle replacement maintains the mobility of the joint producing a more natural and functional gait.
